What am I thankful for?

So, I started the thankful posts on facebook, but didn't keep up with it.  Sad, I know.

To make me feel better about this, I decided I would write one blog post and list the 22 things I am thankful for.  So, if you feel like reading, here goes!

**I also was going back to copy the ones I did, but I am just starting over!

I am thankful for...

1. God's Love.  This is the most important, and I am not worthy of his love and forgiveness.

2. My husband.  God put him in my life many years ago and I am so thankful for what we have accomplished in life, so far.

3. My girls.  Who knew I was so deserving of such unconditional love?  I could have 10 more!

4. Bella...Oh, I miss her so much.  I am thankful for the 4 years we had her.  She brought so much joy into our lives.  She was a sweet girl and was pretty spoiled, too!

5. My Mom and Dad:  I will argue with anyone that I have the best parents in the world.  After becoming a parent myself, I have a new respect for them.  They have been such a big help to us for the past 21 months (and a little more when I couldn't do much for myself! ha!)  They were so active when we were growing up.  Mom was home with us and was always helping out at our schools.  Daddy was always on a ball field with us.  He was my coach for 95% of my softball career and I would not take that back for ANYTHING.  Yes, he was the hardest on me and I am so thankful for that.  I wish I knew how many thousands of softballs he caught for me, either at pitching lessons, or in the backyard, or on the ball field.    When I was recovering from my c-section and going through the month of issues I had, having my mom with me made it all better.  Weird to think about when I am 27 years old, but everyone always says you want your mama.  When I had the wound vac put on the first time, I didn't want her 2 feet away from me.  Now thinking back, I hate that I put her through that.  There were times when I was in a lot of pain (point of screaming) and it had to be hard on her to see that.  I am so thankful I still have my parents!!!!

6. My sister:  We are twins, born 4 1/2 years apart!  She might drive me crazy sometimes, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  I sooo wanted a baby brother, but I am soooo thankful for unanswered prayers.  I hope my girls are as close, or closer than my sister and I.  And my girls LOVE KayKay!!  It is so fun to watch them with her!  She also spoils them, just a little!  Hey, thats what aunts are for, right?  And, she had to watch a few episodes of horror with the healing, and she was such a trooper.  It is funny, we always ask her for medical questions.  Is she a doctor?

7. My grandparents: My granny is one of the best women I know.  She will do anything for anybody, which also takes a toll on her.  I truly DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE WOULD DO WITHOUT HER.  We would have to put the girls in day care and I am so glad she is willing and able to come keep the girls 2 days a week for us.  Not only does she care for our girls, she cleans the house and washes the clothes.  I tell you, the woman has more 'in her' than I do at my age.  I wish she had passed some of her 'get up and go' to me! ha!  My grandaddy is one of the craziest men on the planet!  We are sure to get a laugh out of him, no matter what!  And, my girls adore him!!  He usually comes when Granny is here and plays with the girls and always rocks them to sleep.  I am thankful that they have that.  He was away when I was growing up (dredge in Georgia) so I don't remember much about him until the age of 12ish (I think!)  Also, my dads mom died when I was in 5th grade.  I don't remember that much about her, but I sure wish she was here to see these girls!

8. My in-laws:  I have THE BEST in-laws.  Everyone always disses mother in laws, but I have 2 that are amazing and would do ANYTHING for us.  Jeanne is such a HUGE help and the girls LOVE their JeJe.  I am so glad I was able to give them to her, in such a hard point in her life-losing her mother.  I do not know where we would be without her.  If you do not have a mother in law like JeJe, you should be jealous!!!  :)  I am also thankful for Blair's stepmom.  She is amazing.  She still brings us supper one night a week.  It is so nice not to have to think about cooking or cleaning up on those nights she comes!  She loves the girls so much.  They might not be blood related, but she is their Nana and they LOVE when she comes to play!  I am also thankful for Blair's dad.  He was such a big help when the girls were born and would bring food several nights a week for a little while.

9. My home: Oh, I fuss about it so much (we are busting at the seams here) but I keep reminding myself that we have a warm home, many people would do anything to have a nice house like ours and lots of stuff means lots of love!

10. Friends: As you grow older, friends come and go.  I miss my high school days and spending countless nights with my girls, but time changes things.  Many have families of their own and thankfully we can keep up through facebook.  I am especially thankful for our best friend, James.  He has inherited the 'Uncle' stamp and I love seeing him interact with the girls.  He and Blair have been really good friends for a long time, and he would do anything for my family.  Poor thing gets abused sometimes! ha!  Love you Uncle James!

11. Job: As much as I would love to be a stay at home mom, that is not feasible.  I so wish it were, but it is not.  So, the next best place to my home is my home away from home-ECHS.  I work with the best people and we are like family.  They might pick on my 'blondness' a little, but I am used to it!:)

12. Education: Very few people in this world are able to get an education.  I thank God that I was able to graduate from High School, as well as a 4 year university.  I learned many valuable lessons while living in Wilmington, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.  UNCW is the best smaller school and I miss Wilmington a lot!!

13. Aunts/Uncles: I am so blessed to be born into a large(r) family.  I have too many to name here on both mine and Blair's side, so I am putting a blanket over them all.  I am so thankful for the many aunts and uncles that love us dearly and would do anything for us!!

14. Cousins: same as above.  We have many cousins.  It is true.  Cousins are our first best friends.  We have quite a few cousins on both our sides and I love them all dearly!

15. Holidays: They bring so much joy to me.  I love spending time with family and the excitement of it all!  I wish there were more of them!  Maybe one a month??

16. Wealth:  NOT talking about money here.  Let's face it. I am a teacher.  However, we are more wealthy than most of the world.  We have more than we will ever need and I feel guilty for always wanting more.  I need to work on that.

17. Health: I have been blessed with the best health.  The only issue I have ever had is an under active Thyroid.  I have never been in the hospital, other than to have awesome babies!  I thank God every day that I am healthy and hope to stay that way.  I am also MORE thankful that my babies are healthy.  We have only been to the doctor 4 times for something other than well visits and those visits were all skin related.  Many twins have some NICU stay.  Mine were perfect.  We never needed oxygen, thank God.  I don't want to jinx anything, but we have only had the sniffles/cough a few times and I am contributing those times to teething. No ear infections (Praise the Lord), etc.  We never had colic, no major gas issues, no reflux, etc.  I don't know how, but we were blessed with healthy babies.  I like to attribute some of it to breastfeeding.  I know breastfed babies who are sick, and formula fed babies who are more healthy than we are.  But it was one of the most challenging things I have ever done, so I like to know my babies have benefited from it!!

18. Softball: 90% of my memories of my earlier life revolve around softball.  I am soooo thankful my parents signed me up for it that first time.  There were days I dreaded it, of course, but everything I learned about life, I learned on a softball field!  Those days passed by way too quickly, and my girls will start 'training' this summer. ha..just kidding.  maybe.

19. Down East: I live in Heaven on Earth.  Enough said.

20. America: I live in the best country on Earth.

21. Weekends:  A teachers saying is 'Live for Friday's, Dread Sundays'... I do love spening time with my family!

22. Technology: I am so thankful for technology.  It can be used in a bad way, but I am glad to share my thoughts, prayers, etc with friends and family.  And speaking of technology, how in the world can my 21 month olds work an Iphone so good???  BLOWS.MY.MIND!!
This is a picture of the girls watching the parade last year..
